SPR Specialist (m/f/d) Binding Assays (full-time, permanent)

Role Overview

For our site in Jülich (Germany) we are looking for a highly motivated SPR Specialist to join our Functional Assay team. The main area of responsibility will be the development, execution and detailed documentation of SPR-based binding assays in a GxP-like environment.

Key Responsibilities and Work assignments

Specifics of the Role:

Perform method development for functional binding assays using e.g. SPR technology or ELISA and documentation in accordance with applicable ICH guidelines
Analyze samples to support the development of therapeutic candidates across various departments/process steps
Perform, evaluate and document functional binding assays for analytical similarity and comparability studies
Perform biochemical and protein chemical methods, e.g. covalent protein modification, concentration determination and buffer exchange
Perform nanoDSF and DLS measurements for protein characterization
Draft regulatory documents, including SOPs, R&D-Procedures and analytical method development reports
Support method validation and method transfer activities
Take care of laboratory equipment (e.g. perform instrument maintenance and qualification) and support laboratory management tasks
The role will be primarily lab-based

Your profile

Required experience:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline (life sciences such as biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, etc.) with minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or Master’s degree with 1-5 years of relevant work experience
Experience with the development of binding assays e.g. for the analysis of monoclonal antibodies in early and late-stage development programs, development of fit-for-purpose biological characterization assays
Experience in relevant analytical methods e.g. biosensor-based binding and concentration assays (SPR, CFCA), different types of ELISA assays and biochemical/biophysical methods such as nanoDSF and DLS
Experience with covalent protein modification and buffer exchange techniques is a plus
Attention to detail and precise work habits
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in using a PC and common Microsoft packages. Experience with specific laboratory instrumentation (e.g. Biacore T200 and 8K, MSD, microplate reader) and analysis software (e.g. Biacore Insight, SoftMax, Methodical Mind) is a plus
